Seminars and Workshops

Seminars, workshops and meetings coordinated in 2018 further ITU’s Objectives in a range of subjects, from technologies to capacity building.

The ITU Standardization Sector (ITU-T) organized and collaborated with other organizations to offer more than 37 workshops/events. Highlighted examples include:

  • ITU/UN-Habitat/UNDP Forum “Smart sustainable cities: technological trends, success stories and future prospects”, Minsk, Belarus, 26 to 27 February 2019. See more

The ITU Development Sector (ITU-D) undertook Capacity-building activities which were delivered in close collaboration with partners, including Centres of Excellence (CoEs), the private sector, academia and other training institutions. The CoEs network is the main channel of training delivery under the ITU Academy platform. In 2018, around 1,840 participants were trained through 55 courses delivered by the network. See more

The ITU Radiocommunication Sector (ITU-R) organized several spectrum related workshops, seminars, meetings and capacity building activities

Global ICT Capacity Building Symposium: In 2018, the Symposium attracted some 331 participants from 36 countries, public and private organizations, universities and research institutions and other regional and international organizations. See more
